Pros
Friendly and multicultural environment.
Cons
If I made this review when I started working there, it would have been quite different. The premium location, the friendly environment and the work flexibility are definitely great benefits you will find there. But then, when you realize how everything goes, well, your idea about GVC changes radically. 1- The salaries are decided with any attention to numbers, experience, and work done. The numbers my team brought in 2017 were the best in percentage. You can imagine my surprise when I found out my team was the one with the lowest average salary in the office! None of us has got a pay rise yet. I am not just talking about myself, I’m talking about people working a lot getting paid less than the people doing nothing. I have seen people resigning just because it was impossible to get what they deserved and then receive a counteroffer too late. In my case, when I changed my job role, the employee they hired to replace me in my first position had no experience in that role, but he got the 30% more than me. It is not a question of jealousy but of unequal treatment that I continued to suffer throughout my stay in the company. Indeed, after 2 years and half, they finally promised me a pay rise in February which did not arrive because of "the acquisition of Leadbrokes". So I got upset, I resigned and then I received my counteroffer - clearly Leadbrokes was not a problem anymore - which was lower than the one I was willing to accept at that point (even 5k!), after about 3 years of salary below average. So, if you work there and you feel like you are not getting a fair treatment, well that's probably true, but the only way to be heard is quit. Many people have left for this reason and many other will quit in the next future; if you are about to apply, be ready to negotiate, because they are. The lower your initial salary is, the lower your pay rises will be in the future. I had no idea I could negtiate my salary, in Italy, things work slightly different, but I hope my experience will help someone else. 2- All the issues related to our IT you can read in other reviews, are sadly real. A small issue that could take 3 hours to be fixed, takes sometimes months costing a huge waste of energy and time. 3) - Even the location is great, I spent last 2 years staring at the wall away from the windows and the sunlight. 4) - They seriously claim to organize social events for 25 people on a budget of just £500. These events have always to include food, drinks, plus some kind of group activities. I found it embarrassing.
