Pros
The best company I've had the privilege of working with. Each role comes with huge levels of autonomy, trust and a sense of ownership. There is no authoritarian hierarchy and upwards feedback is welcomed and encouraged at all levels. To this end, although the general direction is set by CEO and Senior Managers, the execution and delivery is largely down to individual team members to interpret. Envato redefine what flexible working means by allowing staff to choose their own working hours (within reason) and split shifts, making external commitments such as appointments easy and accessible. It is a values driven company that care about their workforce and go to great efforts to ensure they are happy and motivated. Unlikely to find a better company to work for.
Cons
If based outside of Australia and are lucky enough to work for Envato on a contract basis, timezone management can be difficult. Expect early morning or late night meetings. Pay is very inconsistent across the board, and it is exceptionally difficult to gain any traction on pay rate increase requests - even when there is a clear and compelling case for one.
