Pros
Principal headquarters location, Business casual attire, Friendly colleagues some of whom I consider true friends, An overall team who cares about their fellow team members and community, No micro-management, Flexible Schedule (Dependent on Department), Occasional company sponsored happy hours/ UT tailgates, and get-togethers (Shrimp boil!), Of course the Holiday Party, Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, 401k options, Paid time off for volunteer work, Management at most levels strive to recognize individual and team accomplishments, Opportunities for advancement in company (I'm an example of this opportunity), Senior Level Management making a great effort to offer Leadership Training to Mid and Lower level management, Most department heads are open to cross-training team members or some other form of job shadowing, Some departments allow their employees continuing education time
Cons
Sometimes the work can become monotonous and unchallenging; It’s a job; not a career; Frequent reorganization of departments, in some cases, little to no prior notice is given to department managers; SLA agreements that benefit one department at the expense of another; All men are not created equal – some departments seem to command more respect/appreciation, more benefits and positive work experience than others; Some managers show zero interest in their team members, team's daily duties and just come off as disconnected from their team
