Pros
Epicor definitely has a good work/life balance. The benefits package is good and the work environment is great. Co-workers are wonderful people that are all interested in helping one another and working toward making the best product possible. Immediate manager is also fantastic to work for and very much cares about employees and the business.
Cons
Epicor cares far more about (saving) money than they do about their employees, the contributions they make, and the experience they have. On several occasions recently, several people each with 15+ years of experience were laid off so their jobs could be transferred overseas to save on money. Decades of experience was lost and Epicor seems to think that can simply be replaced in a few months or even a year or two. Completely unreasonable. New developers are being hired in India. While that is not a problem per se, trying to work collaboratively to develop software with when the two teams collaborating are literally on opposite sides of the world (offset by 12 hours), it makes the process of collaborating extremely difficult. If a question is asked, it can take up to a day for the answer due to the time differences. To add insult to injury, Epicor will send out emails to employees asking them refer friends to Epicor for jobs. Yeah, I've got a few...all the ones you just laid off to save money!
