Pros

I had the opportunity to work at Epirus for a period of time, and overall, it was a valuable experience that allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. The company provided a collaborative and innovative environment that fostered learning and development. My peers were incredibly supportive, and I genuinely enjoyed working with them. The positive aspects of my time at Epirus were numerous. The company encouraged a culture of continuous learning. The work atmosphere was vibrant and intellectually stimulating, allowing me to expand my knowledge and expertise in various domains.

Cons

However, I was disappointed by the sudden layoffs that occurred without prior notice. The ELT's decision to terminate 20% employees caught us off guard and left many of us feeling uncertain and disheartened. It was disconcerting to witness talented colleagues and valuable team members abruptly leave the company. The timing of these layoffs, shortly after the company had made new hires, some uplifting their lives for Epirus, raised concerns about the organization's long-term planning and decision-making processes. The lack of communication and transparency surrounding these layoffs further intensified the unease among employees. It will be challenging to feel secure at Epirus and have any confidence in the company's future trajectory.

Pros

A few enjoyable people and groups to work with, free lunch, benefits.

Cons

Turnover is noticeable, morale can fluctuate significantly, and communication from leadership often lacks the transparency needed to help employees understand where the company is headed. The technology is exciting, but the company would benefit from stronger accountability, clearer strategic direction, better people leadership, and a culture that prioritizes developing and retaining talent. Employee concerns may or may not get addressed and it seems that if you don’t catch on with shifting priorities or goals you’re iced out and left to figure it out. You’ll notice managers and higher titles folks can’t do the jobs of their direct reports yet often criticize the most.
