Pros
While you work at EWCH you will feel valued, overworked, and underpaid. But valued. But when you leave they will throw you under the bus for any possible QA issue they can concoct. The management staff is unethical, has a decades long history of defrauding the government and local physician practices, and covering up quality control issues.
Cons
I thought that when I retired I might be an easy scapegoat. Since I wasn't going to be working there, they didn't have to worry about losing me, right? I'd heard Erlanger would do anything to it's staff to preserve it's own skin. I didn't learn how bad it was until after I left. They fire key staff in ways that sullied their reputation, another just last month. The ethical offenses by Erlanger senior management extends back across 2 decades. OIG reports from 2005 and 2012 clearly show malfeasance. There have also been multiple lawsuits against Erlanger for a multitude of issues ranging from simple fraud to negligent & wrongful deaths. I wish I'd done that google search before I accepted work under new management when Erlanger took over Murphy Medical Center. I could have retired a bit earlier and saved myself a lot of grief.
