Pros

The coworkers, the floor managers, and the GM and Regional Director were great people, and they were honestly what made this job worthwhile. The Game Masters were generally pretty fun and animated people. The managers fight for and protect their employees like no one I've ever seen before. They don't do it for the money either (because they're not paid well enough), they genuinely care about their employees. Other than that, there's not many more good things to say about the company.

Cons

I worked with this company for about two years, and I held almost every single title at one point. So, I speak with personal experience when I say that this job isn't worth your time unless you're in college and need some easy part-time money. As a game master, the job is pretty easy -- just watch a screen for 45 minute intervals. The managers take wonderful care of their employees. As a bartender, it's a pretty easy gig, too. Beer and wine only, and the POS system is a piece of cake. As a manager, GOOD LUCK. Don't expect to make a living off of this job, I sure didn't. The managers are underpaid, under-appreciated, and verbally berated by the owners on a relatively consistent basis. I give a lot of props to the RD and GM for taking so much of the heat for the managers who work themselves dry trying to keep this place functioning for two people who don't care about anything other than their monthly income. If a bad review comes in, and you're a part time employee, get ready to search for another job. Even if the review is about the flow of the rooms or the puzzles inside of the rooms, expect the owners to dump it all on you or the manager on duty for the shift. I would like to address a response to a previous review that stated that shifts get cut often and at the last minute, but the owner replied that employees now receive compensation for cut shifts. That is COMPLETELY UNTRUE, employees do not receive compensation if their shifts are cut, but the upper management fought like crazy with the owners to make sure that shifts DON'T get cut (as often, if at all). Overall, this place is far more stress than it's worth. The company isn't going anywhere fast, so the owners are just trying to tack more businesses onto it to increase their monthly income. Remember, to the owners Escape Room Live is not about the employees within it or even the guests that come in and out of the doors, it's about the amount of money they can put in their pockets.

Pros

They definitely care about you and do the best to adjust to any scheduling problems. You’re treated like family.

Cons

Although, the scheduling is pretty open, if you ask for a set schedule, it may not always be as consistent as needed.

Pros

Relaxed work environment, somewhat flexible schedule (which I would not consistently consider to be a “pro”)

Cons

- Bad pay. Was promised minimum wage and then a $1 increase after a 30 day probationary period. 5 months later, realized this increase hadn’t occurred and talked to the manager about it. He said that he never added it since I didn’t “ask” for it. I have never been expected to ask for the promised and contracted pay from a company - Unsafe. I can think of 2-3 times where someone walked through the front door and straight through the back, likely casing for robbery. One of my coworkers was mildly electrocuted by a game component on the job; she was not sent home or checked in on but sent back to work. - Shifts randomly cut. Day of, night before, an hour before start time. Store would also frequently close early on weeknights. - Passive aggressive text messages on Slack, rather than just speaking directly to someone - Rude clientele. Not exactly in the control of the company, but management was on the side of “the customer is always right”. - Would randomly be scheduled when I had no availability or requested off (and had been approved for those days off). Would get my phone blown up on a vacation I had given 2 months of notice for, because I had been scheduled the entire time.
