Pros
Opportunity to contribute and grow your experience working on large scale, incredible projects. You feel accomplished upon completion and (verbally) acknowledged for a job well done. Core team of employees are amazingly skilled, knowledgeable and great to work with.
Cons
Understaffed for the heat of the projects, need more contract/temp workers. Workload and hours are overwhelming and prime for burn out. No work/life balance. Don't recommend taking salaried (exempt) position as you will not be compensated adequately for the expected (consistent, excessive OT) time commitment. Owner is challenging to work with, often unnecessarily and impulsively interfering, delaying and derailing timelines and budgets without explanation or positive contributions, only to return to original plan with less time and higher cost to do it adding undue stress on staff. Financial management also is a huge issue with vendor payments months late, employees often being asked to incur costs on personal credit cards and not being reimbursed for months.
