I wish I had read reviews before taking a position with the company.
You will be interviewed and onboarded by a team that sounds excited to have you join the company that will talk about how great the opportunity to work at this 15yr old company that feels like a start-up. It’s exciting, high energy, and they’ll tell you all about these big name companies they’ve worked with. There are actually a couple of really great people that work here.
Once your start, you will continually have more and more responsibilities added to your plate, with no additional compensation or clear direction. If you ask for benchmarks, goals, or things to achieve to advance in the company, you will be told, the more money you can make the company, the more money you can make. You’ll be tasked with coming up with your own goals and metrics, but if they’re not good enough, management will just give you completely different ones. You’ll be told you are the CEO of your own desk, but will still be carefully monitored, or even have other team members keep track of your performance, at the request of leadership. This happened to me, and the only reason I found out was because the team member keeping tabs on me, came out and told me.
I requested a raise after 2 years with the company, but was told the company wasn’t in a position to pay any raises, but if I want to earn more, I need to do even more than I was already doing, again, without clear direction on what I was supposed to do, besides exploit my network of people like it’s an MLM. You can only earn a referral bonus if you refer someone from YOUR network, a referral from a satisfied client will not count.
The pay is not a livable wage.
The leadership lacks vision, and clear direction and they will rely heavily on the team for ideas to steer the ship. If you ask for help, it’s vague, ambiguous, and you’ll be met with, “I want to see what you come up with.”
