Pros

Evaluagent is by far the best company I have had the pleasure to work for. As a home-based employee, I have the flexibility and autonomy to manage my daily workload as required, managing priorities as and when they present themselves. The leadership team here are very supportive and regularly provide updates on the company performance, personal performance and do everything possible to ensure that all employees maintain a successful work-life balance. Everyone at Evaluagent is accommodating when support is required and has an open door culture at it's heart. Like many tech businesses, things can change and things can move very quickly but what impresses me is how any changes that occur are clearly communicated in a way that everyone understands and can get onboard with. Evaluagent also provide a range of great benefits including health and financial just to name a couple.

Cons

As a remote business, we meet face to face as a whole company twice a year (minimum) and individual teams will get together additionally. The frequency of meet-ups on the whole suits me fine, but some may perhaps prefer this to happen more regularly.

Pros

Some absolute legends work here and that's not an exaggeration. Warm culture, good atmosphere at the quarterly meet-ups and the kind of work events you will actually enjoy going to. Remote working is properly supported and the work-life balance is decent. The SLT genuinely try. If nothing else you'll leave with some great mates and a real masterclass in what happens when a category gets commoditised.

Cons

The core challenge is product. The platform hasn't moved fast enough to stay ahead of the enterprise players absorbing QA functionality into their base offering and prospects aren't going to pay twice for something that no longer feels differentiated. That puts pressure on renewals and new business, and as a result the team has felt it. There's been significant employee churn and several rounds of redundancies across the business. Pivoting to a US partnership model is a reasonable move to reframe the growth story but it doesn't rebuild the product moat.

Pros

Been here a few years and it's one of the only jobs I've had in my career where I don't feel like I'm wasting my life away. It's not like we're saving lives, but I am definitely driven to solve some of the issues in the industry our product services. It has been cool to see the continual growth over the past couple of years and have been involved in things like AI / scaling Don't know the other departments too well but the engineering team is really friendly. I think most engineers here would say that they like the team and the autonomy you get. No monitoring, timesheets, micromanagement etc, you are just trusted to be an adult. I've always kind of thought of the place as having the maturity of a larger company without the BS, and the speed of a start up without the 'table tennis' stuff. No egos in the dev team, people just want the right solution not their solution. majority of engineer managers were promoted from within which is cool. job is 100% remote and always has been, and the CEO says it always will be.

Cons

Things change quickly here. Personally that kinda suits how my brain works, but I can definitely see if someone is used to a slower pace of work, or prefer to work on 6-12 month long projects it might not be the place for you. I think that engineering salaries could be slightly lower than elsewhere, but the company gives options to staff to make up for it. And since we're fully remote, you could live somewhere with cheaper housing etc in the UK and it would probably work out well

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We’re so glad to hear that you feel driven by the work we do and enjoy the autonomy, trust, and collaboration within the engineering team. It’s also great to hear your perspective on balancing the maturity of a larger company with the agility of a start-up—that’s something we strive for. We appreciate your feedback on the pace of change and salaries, too. Offering share options and supporting remote work flexibility are key parts of our approach, and we’re always listening to how we can improve further. Thanks again for your thoughtful review.
