Pros
Amazing co-workers, very supportive and skilled.
Cons
The CEO/owner expects the skill and capability of a seasoned, experienced full-timer, but doesn’t want to pay the salary of a seasoned, experienced full-timer, so they just hire bunch of interns to do a 6-months long UNPAID internship. When the interns can’t deliver the desired work result just like the experienced, full-timer’s, they’ll blame the interns for not performing well. Those interns who are mostly students or fresh grduates are working the same amount of workload as full-time entry level employee with no pay. The company is always able to frame it as “development” or “growth”, it is not. Intern to hire pipeline is no more than a myth. Many of the interns are not eventually get hired as paid employees, only 2-3 interns eventually got hired as paid employees. They work 10 hours per day on average, they lead more than 1 teams, they got paid minimum wage (based on their domicile, using local currency) or just barely above minimum.
