Pay is lagging behind industry. The company tends to overwork and overwhelm salaried engineers. This is leading to a large number of mostly contract engineers and designers. Work/life balance is also not very good for engineering staff. Many plants are older and need much repairs but project funding for improvements is not sufficient. Safety at production plants is beginning to be an issue. Some incidents and potential dangers are being swept under the rug due to not having budget to correct issues.
