Our organization recently implemented an in-office surveillance framework (Tuesday–Thursday) alongside formal badge tracking for time in/out, and required employee acknowledgements. In parallel, essential contractor roles were reduced, with their responsibilities reassigned to employees without a documented level-of-effort analysis or adequate knowledge transfer. The combined effect has been a perceived erosion of trust and professionalism—employees feel scrutinized for attendance while simultaneously judged as under-productive, despite increased workload and insufficient enablement.
