Pros

You get to network and teach students who come from all around the world. Sometimes you go to businesses and teach the employees English. Take down their contact information and give them a good class. You can connect with them when you leave this company!

Cons

The owner is an evil, psychotic man. He's always saying how he pays the teachers a fair wage and the wage is better than the competitors. Well of course, if you are hiring NATIVE speakers and you are ADVERTISING that there are only native English speakers, of course you will pay them more than the other institutes who do not only hire native speakers. You can get paid more by working online or freelancing. He refuses to pay on time. He always has some excuse. The staff and administrators are treated much better. They can schedule you to work from 9 am-9 pm with either no break or just a 30-minute break. There's no training. There's very poor communication. You can be waiting for a student to arrive or show up to their house but they actually canceled the class. There's no parking. You must pay for parking yourself.

Pros

The workplace has changed for the better in so many ways. Communication, morale and team spirit. Opportunities for staff progression have been implemented, and there is a real sense of togetherness. Teachers are actually being listened to and valued.

Cons

It can be challenging during busy season but we are paid according to hours worked so it's time well spent

You get to teach, meet and become friends with students from all over the world.

Cons

Sadly, the atmosphere is toxic. Despite giving 100% effort, the owner will set out to destroy you. Students advised they gave great feedback about you to reception staff but in return you hear nothing positive from the owner just constant criticism and made to feel worthless due to his attitude and nasty persona. Do not expect to be paid on time or paid correctly either. Any reasonable questions you ask will be met with patronising, condescending remarks that are personal and unreasonable. No shows, cancellations and travel time are also not paid for which can cut your day and wage in half so you never make what you were advised you would make, it’s just to trap you. Best to avoid this place or if you do work here, best to avoid the owner. A lot of home visits can also put you in uncomfortable settings where you are treated badly by the families but there is no duty of care given by this school.
