Started great but marred by the end - Software Engineer Extend, Inc. Employee Review

Extend is still a young startup, and the growth is significant from revenue and business expansion perspective. As an employee, that means you are always exposed with new exciting projects / problems every quarter if not every month. I was never bored over the past 4 years here from a work perspective. The leadership team is very energetic / transparent as well, and they always move FAST! That means if you are passionate with your career / growth, you are gonna feel fulfilled here.

Typical growing pain as a startup, sometimes work could be stressful given tight timeline.

Work life balance is what you make it. There are always things to work on and some people may burn themselves out trying to do it all. In the fast-paced start up environment that Extend is in, you have to manage that for yourself and work with your manager to push back when needed. Management is a real strength here. The leadership I have worked with truly care about their employees and are very open and honest with communicating what is happening at the company.

I don’t believe there are many people at the company with a solid understanding of the whole life cycle of our product from all aspects of the company. It’s challenging when something comes to your team and trying to determine ownership of who is responsible for correcting the problem.
