Pros

Phenomenal management, flexible hours, understanding about school schedules, the nurses will teach you anything. Every nurse on PCU is happy to have an NT shadow them and help them do clinical skills that you may not even see in school clinicals. I feel so prepared to be an RN because of this job. I have learned more on PCU than I even did in school clinicals. Overall, PCU is the best unit to work on to learn how to be a great nurse.

Cons

If you work hard, you will be asked to help out more than other techs who hide in the work room to do homework on the clock. Fine line between being a great tech and getting asked to do it all because the other techs are lazy.

Pros

Promote from within, remote positions available.

Cons

I feel they have a very toxic management and culture, significant turnover, lack of communication, lack of training, and HR is the worst I’ve seen. It seems they spend a lot of time, money, and energy promoting the idea of their culture, but a lot less trying to do anything to improve it. In my role there was no work/life balance. In MarComm you will be in a building of approx 400 cubicles. Lots of politics and seems to be a total lack of accountability of leadership. It may be different in the hospitals, but this review is specific to my experience in the MarComm department.
