This is a very isolating department. Management does not include all the “managers” in the meetings. The management family is very unfriendly to new employees and does not try to make them feel wanted. Management “can do everything by themselves”. They don’t need you. The facade about being a part of the family is just that. Events is obsessed with money and keeping tips for themselves instead of supporting the hosts in getting them that actually earn them. Management will publicly embarrass you in person and through emails. They will point out your mistakes even if it is not your doing. Management will never show true appreciation for you. The only appreciation you will get is from the owners and you will be isolated from them unfortunately. Anything they tell you about moving upward or a pay raise is mostly all talk and not to be taken seriously. This is a short term place to work. They have incredibly smart and capable people working, but so many people feel lonely, overworked and unappreciated.
