Unfortunately Field Sales Solutions is probably a toxic work environment. Why: You will be over managed and over trained. Performance management is over the top. Your customers are regularly changed so you can’t learn your patch as well as if you had a set sales area. People who do well get given more work for no extra pay. People who do badly get paid almost the same or exactly the same as people who do well whilst doing less lower quality work. Managers blame the client for unreasonable requests. This happens quite a bit. Managers and employees don’t really know of how well they are doing for most of the year as employee review is done by committee. No company sick pay so if you get sick in the medium term you effectively don’t have a job. Most managers are just sales reps who stayed long after most people left and said yes without question to everything: In most cases these are almost the only skills they have that their teams don’t and you will learn little to nothing from management. You know it’s time to leave when competitor reps and even your customers tell you that your employer is over working and underpaying you which is made obvious to them by the amount of work they see you do compared to other reps and the number of jobs Field Sales Solutions has to continually recruit: the staff turnover is very high for these reasons.
