Things change—often. That’s not inherently a con, but it’s something to be aware of. At this stage in the company’s maturity, the environment is highly dynamic, and shifts or pivots happen frequently. You need to learn to be like water—adaptable and resilient.
Everything here contributes to growth, but the path can be bumpy. Mentally, you have to get comfortable being uncomfortable. I had never worked at a company in this stage of development before, and through the constant change, I’ve learned a lot about myself. You can either resist the waves or learn to navigate the evolving journey.
This current environment may not suit everyone, but I believe it will stabilize as Figure continues to mature. Still, the excitement of being part of a foundational build is unmatched. The sense of ownership and direct connection between your efforts and the company’s success is real. It’s tough—no question—but it’s also one of the most rewarding environments to grow in.
If you can thrive here, you can thrive anywhere.
