Pros

I have been with Finning just about a month now and my experience from applying, the interview process, onboarding and job training has been nothing short of amazing. The interview process was professional but welcoming and I left each interview I had wanting to work at Finning more. I had been at my previous company for almost 8 years and there was never any doubt that I would be leaving and coming to something better. I was and continue to be excited about Finning and the opportunities I will have here. In the time between my offer and start date, all of the leaders I would report to reached out to let me know they were available if I needed anything and were looking forward to my starting. That time in between an offer and start date is often silence so this touch point was appreciated. Once I started, every person in the office was incredibly helpful & offered assistance in any way they could and they are also so incredibly nice. The people assigned to training me did so enthusiastically and continue to be great resources for me. The relationships here are positive & inclusive and everyone genuinely wants to see you do well. Shortly after I started, I ended up quite sick. My leaders were beyond supportive & understanding. I had the flexibility to work at home as I felt fit to do so while also being able to rest as much as I needed. It was more important to them that I be healthy and take care of myself than worry about work. I was never made to feel like I was inconveniencing them or that they were upset with me. This has not always been my experience so it was very appreciated!

Pros

Good and hard working employees for the most part, standard industry benefits and great business model for growth

Cons

Many changes within BP&S team in the past few months without leadership or strategic approach; Hiring and keeping expensive contractors instead of keeping knowledgable employees. The CIO acts as a bully and there is no oversight on his costly decisions and the chaos he has created. He was given the ultimate authority by the past leadership team and since they have left Finning, the new leadership team has not assessed CIO’s negative impact and outcomes so far. Moral is low and BP&S employees seem lost while the new CIO brings in more of his people on high paid roles and contracts.
