Pros

Staff meals served once a week to most staff are very good.

Cons

Working at Firm Capital results in a laundry list of horror stories for most people who work there. Unethical and unprofessional behaviour are a daily fact of life, including constant screaming, swearing, general verbal abuse, arbitrary termination (I've seen parents terminated for having to see their children), as well as inappropriate comments made by senior members of staff. Your day to day ends up desperately trying to keep your head down and not attract the ire of the CEO, who likes to occasionally grace us with his presence in order to terrorize low level employees. Given the shoddy treatment of employees, limited upward mobility and lack of real actual benefits like RRSP matching, you would expect salaries to be higher to compensate. Surprisingly though salaries are substantially lower than the market rate, and vacation time is similarly 2 weeks compared to the industry standard of 3. There really is no benefit to working here, and it can in fact damage your career given the frequent and arbitrary firings. It is a culture of cruelty bordering on evil.

Pros

Free lunch on Thursdays, ample parking, close to highways and mall.

Cons

When I received my job offer I was on the fence for this place because of the horrendous reviews on Google and Glassdoor. I wanted to take the reviews with a grain of salt because it couldn’t honestly have been that bad…. it was WORSE. Before your first day even begins, they will bombard you with emails and meeting requests to your personal email. Once your first day arrives you will be placed at your desk and abandoned by HR expecting to know how to navigate their files. Consistent verbal abuse by the owner of the company and other c-suite executives. The environment brings out the worst in everyone. Constant yelling, abuse, and inappropriate emails about government and religion. Racism, sexual harrassment, the list goes on and on. A lot of their staff is inexperienced and not qualified to do their jobs. HR, marketing, accounting, and property management to name a few. They hire whatever they can get because no one wants to work here. A lot of nepotism and hiring based on who someone in the office is interested in dating.
