Pros
- when you leave you will have a very high tolerance for stress - there are a few genuinely talented people who work here
Cons
- The code was outsourced to fast and cheap quack developers. Your worklife will be routinely on fire trying to pick up the pieces. - unrealistic and arbitrary deadlines - there is a clause in the contract that you will work 40 hours minimum, plus any more as the business requires. Since you are salaried, you will not be paid overtime. - upper management and tech are mostly a boys club. - the product is completely undocumented and mostly untested. It's very easy to break features, since the only one who knows how it's supposed to work is the CEO - the CEO is a control freak and will regularly be poking his nose in whatever your domain is - Pay is on the modest side - There are no benefits - There is no sick pay, surprising that this is the case even in the ROI. - aggressive growth has meant hiring cowboys who have no idea what they are doing. You will spend a lot of time cleaning up after and compensating for these people - people getting calls to come in to work on their day off, encouragement by upper management to work out of hours. Company wide shout outs for employees who have worked during their annual leave. Passive aggressive behavior by upper management - you will waste your days working long and hard hours for these people and be made feel grateful for the opportunity
