Famliy owned business that doesnt care about its employees or customers - Sales/Customer Service Foam Factory Employee Review

There are so many cons. The owner, Sal, would try to humiliate EVERY employee at one point by yelling at them in front of all the other employees (instead of talking to in a private room), this typically happened to new employees who they deemed weren't working hard enough. It happened to me and countless others. Or, when the owners are stressed, It could happen to employees that have been there for 5 years. I got yelled at in front of 10 coworkers for "not picking up the phones enough" and this was at a point when there were around 10 people easily available to answer the phones and I had way more responsibilities and job duties than all of them. Point is, they will find something, even so minute, that will give them a reason to belittle and embarrass you in front of everyone. Everyone was "full time" there except they make you work just under the amount of hours so that they don't have to pay benefits. The company seems to go with "the customer is wrong" attitude and makes it very difficult for you to please an unsatisfied customer. Meanwhile customers will start to hate you personally because when they ask to speak to a manager (which they are all the owners/family), the owners will never take the call, they keep having you repeat the same thing over and over until the customer gets frustrated and gives up. Pay isn't very good until you put in your notice and then they offer more. There is really no room for advancement because all the management positions are held by family members. Overall its a terrible company to work for, owners treat you like garbage (they also have a separate employee break room and family member break room!) and you will hate yourself working at this place.
