Pros
Connect with talented college-aged volunteer leaders, bond with interns, fellows, and VISTAs; decent start to professional career; room for creativity, growth, and initiative
Cons
Poor management i.e. cannot admit to work overload and lack of adequate skill set, micromanagement, lack of initiative and order, and thrive from the work produced by interns, fellows, and VISTAs; poor leadership which is shown in inconsistency and talking down toward interns, fellows, and VISTAs; lack of budget transparency; I've watched valuable team members go because of organization's poor investment into solid full time staff; disconnect between leadership and volunteers; interns and fellows do the BULK of the work and must hold management accountable; disorganized meetings; slow growth; and slow shift toward corporate culture which isn't all bad but can undermine the heart and passion of the organization's founding
