Pros
A majority of the team (and company) was very enthusiastic about their job and the company itself. It feels good to be helping other people and supporting a mission that they agree on. I think employee benefits are incredibly important, and the company shows that through how they provide benefits for their own employees. How they market the value of employee benefits publicly is reflected within the company.
Cons
There was some miscommunication when I applied. Soon after submitting my application, I recieved an email that they had decided not to move foward with my application. Then the next day, I was informed that before I meet with the team, they would like me to fill out another document to better understand me. Although I was excited that I would be moving foward to the next step of the hiring process, it was very confusing to recieve a rejection letter as well as a next step letter the next day. I think it really set the tone for level of organization this company has and what areas still need improvement. Moving forward, there was a lot of miscommunication with higher levels of management, which felt confusing and disheartening. There were some moments where I felt like others were dismissing me for asking questions. The company is still at the beginning stages of creating a solid structure and that can be true for many start ups. I just think althought there was the energy to be more optimistic, there were many times I felt turned down to spark curiosity. Even the onboarding process was a little rocky and I think prefaced the rest of my time with the company.
