Great sense of community, wholesome mandate and mission. Hidden gem of nature in the city, excellent place to work and to visit outside of work.

Lower pay than similar positions in gvmt or other private employers due to being a non-profit. Offset by improved work-life balance and better sense of satisfaction at work.

Working at Fortwhyte Farms was one of the best jobs I've had. I loved working outside, working with youth and the diverse tasks of the workday. Team was supportive and collaborative. Work felt so rewarding and challenged me physically and professionally.

Location is not on bus routes or very accessible. Little room for advancement due to the competition of the limited amount of environmental education jobs available in Winnipeg. Staff are underpaid (non profit funding limitations) and therefore becomes a stepping stone job for many staff.
