Pros

The salary is decent compared to other retailers, and the bonus system is definitely a plus. Holiday allowance is reasonable.

Cons

For those that work in the company, the title of this review should be recognisable. However, it refers to the company's deep rooted history with nepotism, stemming from the KB days. I do no use that description lightly, but the company is far from being a meritocracy. Instead you need to be the right person, in the right place at the right time to progress in this company. It does not matter how hard you work, how many hours you work or how much you sacrifice for the company, you will only progress in the company if you are appealing to Area and Regional managers. There are appraisals conducted each year, however, I was instructed by the area manager that we must not score ourselves higher than a 3 (out of 5). How can one progress when your appraisals are controlled and the true reflections of your work are not recognised? The minimum expected hours for managers are 45. However, if asked to participate in an new store opening, you will be expected (yes, expected) to work 5 days straight, doing a 6am-8pm with no extra pay, and very little thanks. This is not how other retailers do it.

Pros

None, it was a job

Cons

No clear strategy, tech stack in complicated due to layering more on. Individuals who have worked their too long, who have no knowledge of other companies, rule the roost. If you don't follow this you will be bullied. They know new people have new ideas and they do not want that
