Pros

Very few, when you think something is a pro, they switch it up. For example, they are fully remote and brag about it but have fired at least two people for moving to a new city. It's very hard to know what is a pro or not

Cons

I am here to address a lot of falsehoods in these reviews about Freestar: 1. The illusion of growth- Freestar gives the perception that it’s in high growth mode by frequently hiring, but in reality, they conduct layoffs so often that their actual headcount remains stagnant or even declines. 2. Discrimination- three women have actively hit their quota but fired/laid off before their underperforming male counterparts. They recently did layoffs and let go of all the people of color on the sales team, and the kicker is, the left over straight white men went golfing right after- how ironic. 3. A lack of Innovation- Their “technology” is mostly repackaged open-source solutions and third-party integrations, which means they struggle to differentiate themselves from competitors. 4. Toxic CoFounder-Led Sales Culture- Freestar’s sales leadership operates on favoritism rather than merit. The top-performing reps aren’t necessarily the ones who get promoted or rewarded, and there’s a clear bias towards leadership’s inner circle. This extends beyond just promotions—pipeline distribution and lead allocation are also uneven, making it difficult for some employees to succeed. 5. Shifting Goals & Constant Uncertainty- With frequent layoffs, shifting leadership priorities, and unclear long-term strategy, employees are left constantly wondering whether their job is safe or if their work will even matter in the next quarter. There’s no clear roadmap for success, and leadership’s decisions seem to be made on a whim rather than based on data or strategic planning. Freestar is just a service masqueraded as tech. It’s obvious that the founder doesn’t know much about tech, he may know a lot about the ad ecosystem but he lacks analytical skills. A note to all the current employees leaving reviews, when management asks you to submit a review to minimize the voices of the people the company has actually negatively impacted, are you complicit?

Pros

Really great employees who value their work and are incredibly helpful.

Cons

Strong performers get rewarded with doing more work. Like many companies, there is a big focus on pushing AI rather than supporting the humans in ways they need.
