The Truth about Fresh Prints 1. Fresh Prints thrives on fear: They like to keep employees in a constant state of anxiety by threatening Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), withholding promotions. Even the most inconsequential mistakes or missed deadlines are used as leverage to keep you on edge. 2. "Hire and Fire" Reality: The company’s high attrition rate speaks volumes. Many new hires are either forced out or leave within days/weeks. The situation is especially dire in the Growth Team, where attrition is faster than Squid Games. 3. Health toll from overwork: Long-term employees (defined here as those lasting over six months) often leave with health issues brought on by relentless overwork and stress. So, don’t be misled by the enticing "remote-work" policy. In reality, it’s just a smokescreen for a culture that demands 12-16 hour workdays, with no boundaries and little regard for your well-being. 4. They’re professional gaslighters: If you raise concerns about overwork or poor systems, Fresh Prints will blame your inefficiency instead of addressing the core issues. They'll deflect with empty advice like "review your calendar," while avoiding any real change. Even if you decide to quit, they will have the audacity to blame you for not taking on the challenge of working through the issues. They'll frame your departure as a personal failure, not a result of their toxic environment. 5. "Fresh Principles" Are a Farce: The company has principles that are more about control than actual values. “Candor over Comfort” sounds good in theory but is weaponized against employees at the lower levels. When senior management is challenged, they label you as defensive, having a bad attitude, or simply “not fitting the culture”—classic tactics of manipulation. These principles are strategically crafted to control the majority of employees at the bottom of the Fresh Prints food chain. 6. Stagnation in Growth: Despite their grand claims of grand success, Fresh Prints is stagnating. The growth has been marginal (<15%), which is dismal considering the endless stress and sacrifice demanded from employees. The company has seen a record low number of Campus Managers, a key driver of growth. Valuable employees are leaving due to the exploitative nature of the workplace. The company’s trajectory is far from successful, and the cracks are beginning to show. 7. Scarce Promotions: According to numerous honest reviews, promotions at Fresh Prints are a rarity. The company prioritizes rewarding their inner circle of favorites, while everyone else is left struggling for recognition. Managers are pressured by senior leadership to assign lower ratings and nitpick trivial mistakes—all to keep costs down. No matter how much value you’ve added, they’ll pick the smallest, most inconsequential error to justify denying your promotion, all while securing their own. 8. Office Politics: Office politics at Fresh Prints are brutal, fostering a ruthless, dog-eat-dog culture. Managers will readily throw their teams under the bus to protect their own appraisals. What’s marketed as a collaborative environment is really a cutthroat atmosphere, where the pursuit of personal agendas trumps teamwork. 9. Favoritism truimps ‘meritocracy’: Favoritism runs rampant at the top-level. Many are incompetent and unqualified for their roles. They have reached that position by selling their soul, throwing their team members under the bus and doing whatever it takes to stay in the good books of the owners. They have worn a mask for so long that it’s become part of their identity. They make a massive mistake and will face no repercussions, whilst minor slip-ups by others are blown out of proportion, leading to unnecessary escalations, constant threats, and a toxic blame culture. 10. Toxicity stems from the top: Toxicity stems from the top: The toxicity at FP originates from those leading its growth. Certain senior leaders exhibit a management style defined by gaslighting, manipulation, and a hire-and-fire mentality. Impatience and a short temper create an environment where questioning decisions or standing your ground is met with hostility. Worse still, many managers under this leadership embrace and emulate these behaviors, adopting the same tactics and even parroting company principles in every situation—often to a cringeworthy extent. Intimidation is frequently used to push agendas, leading to endless, petty email wars that drain employees. 11. Silencing Ex-Employees: In an attempt to maintain control over their public image, Fresh Prints trys to get departing employees to sign non-disparagement agreements. Exhausted and traumatized, many feel they have no choice but to comply in order to escape the toxic environment. 12. Exploitation of Foreign Talent: Fresh Prints’ core principle is to hire talented workers from cheaper countries and demand 10x the output for 1/10th the price of a local US worker. Their sister company’s headline sums this up: “Hire twice the talent for half the price. This approach is emblematic of their exploitative practices. For a company that sells custom t-shirts to frat boys and sorority girls, Fresh Prints takes itself way too seriously. To those who are considering applying here for work, don’t be fooled by the remote-work.. Please prioritize your health, well-being, and family—apply elsewhere. To those still at Fresh Prints, this review reflects the truths you already know but may be hesitant to confront. Don't hold onto false hopes of change—things won't improve. You are nothing but a pond for them. You'll be valued far more at other companies.
