      Pros

      My personal situation allows the freedom to act and do business without excessive hindrance. As a result, I have the opportunity to learn details of other programs and interact with other areas of the company. This streamlines the problem/solution process by allowing direct interaction with the folks who can help.

      Cons

      I have unique responsibilities that aren't mirrored throughout the company. Therefore, as I build paths to get the job done; I'm sometimes faced with systemic walls that have to be hurdled. I guess that can be experienced in any business.
