Pros
For a straight out of college person, it is a good place to kickstart your career and learn about a lot of markets. Research analysts do get a lot of exposure to mid and senior management at various fortune 500 companies on research projects.
Cons
Senior management is totally incompetent at communicating a vision. And the vision changes every 6 months. Managment never applied the growth consulting processes and framework they preach to their clients to their own company. Salaries were one of the worst compared to similar firms. People leaving the company for the most part got anywhere from 20-50% raises. Management did not care about retaining their best employees choosing to make it up by hiring more young inexperienced folks who do not need to be paid much. Analysts are expected to write reports and also act as sales folks. It is a sales driven company and all that matters is to make the margins and the revenue numbers at any cost. Compensation plans for sales people are way better than analysts.
