Fulton County: You get what you're paid for. - Teacher, French Fulton County Schools Employee Review

Pros

The compensation and benefits of working for Fulton County Schools are some of the best in the region if not in the nation and cost of living is relatively inexpensive in certain areas within driving distance of the schools. Many of the schools are in close proximity to the metro Atlanta area or in the nicer suburban areas just outside of the city.

Cons

Enjoyment factor in Fulton County Schools seems to depend on which school you work for. It is a diverse county racially, economically, and in terms of growth. In high needs schools, local politics sometimes lands inexperienced leadership in schools with high needs. This can make an already stressful and demanding job even more so. It is a large county and so more high-tech and more demanding than others.

Pros

You get a wide variety of schools to work with.

Cons

South Fulton and Alpharetta are really far away from the city center, and there can be a lot of favoritism in those areas. Paraprofessional pay is very low, and that can sometimes be the only thing that is available on Aesop. You may barely have a break to take your lunch - 30 mins or so.
