Pros

Coworkers on your same level. Insurance, salary was decent too.

Cons

Dying industry. Before Covid, this was THE place to work. No work from home anymore. During and after Covid, the leadership went down the drain. The former CEO stepped back and the current CEO and C-suite execs are making bad decision after bad decision. The current CEO hired all his friends from a former company and put them all in leadership positions and Fusion is no longer what it used to be. They have all made terrible decisions and choices that have caused the company to have multiple layoffs. Instead of letting go of the asinine amount of managers, they let go of Good employees. And employees that worked at fusion before it tanked (I wonder why). They don’t want anyone there who remembers what it used to be. They just recently had a mandatory meeting where they told everyone that they now need to be in the office 5 days a week. And it’s implied that you better be there with a smile on your face and to suck it up. They expect you to just take it and not discuss how you feel. The CEO says he has an open door policy, but if you were to tell him how you feel, you’ll be the next one to go during their next round of layoffs or they will make something up to let you go. Same with the compliance directors and managers. They will turn around and stab you in the back. They only care about themselves. They don’t care about the employees anymore. They don’t care about work life balance nor do they care that you have a family and life outside of work. There is an obscene amount of managers now, and they do nothing but have meetings on top of meetings that go nowhere. In compliance they are never at their desk and they are never available to answer any questions or help you in anyway. The managers will all sit around and laugh and joke while all the CS are working. They are so out of touch it’s ridiculous. There is one lead to only a 2-4 team and they don’t help you out if you are feeling overwhelmed. They tell you that as a senior CS, you should be able to handle it. What kind of leader is that. They have 2 compliance directors, and that’s 2 too many. They both care very little about the concerns of their employees, and they too, will tell you to take all the changes with a smile on your face. Why would compliance even need two directors. There is not a big compliance dept anymore after they let go of over 30 CS in the multiple layoffs. Also, there is literally no diversity here. All I see is a sea of white. There are some compliance managers and leads that have a text thread on the side where they pretty much bash people and really talk about their political views. It’s no wonder there is so little diversity in compliance and fusion. There is so much more that’s wrong but I’d be here all night then.

Pros

-Very competitive pay and benefits for Omaha

Cons

It would be convenient to blame Fusion’s problems on the downturn in the medical staffing industry. But that explanation doesn’t hold up once you’ve been inside the company. The real issue is leadership. Over the last two years, Fusion has gone through four mass layoffs, each one eroding trust, morale, and any sense of stability. By the time the most recent layoffs happened in November, it felt less like a strategic decision and more like abandoning ship. The company culture that once existed is effectively gone. Decision-making at the top has become increasingly insular, with key roles filled by friends and family rather than experienced leaders with a clear plan for navigating a challenging market. Strategy feels reactive at best, nonexistent at worst. Employees are left to speculate about direction because transparency has disappeared. What makes this especially frustrating is that Fusion used to be a success story. A company built from the ground up that earned real loyalty from its people. Watching it unravel due to erratic leadership priorities and repeated workforce reductions is genuinely disheartening. Perks and surface-level morale boosters (they now allow alcohol at lunch!) can’t compensate for instability, poor strategic vision, and a lack of trust in leadership.

Hi there, First of all, thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback. Of course, the decisions made leading to our reductions in force are ones we wish we didn't have to make. We pride ourselves in hiring amazing people, including yourself, and releasing quality folks was heartbreaking for our team. We cannot control the demands of the medical staffing industry, but we can control our level of effort and our compassion to our teammates and other folks we work with - two things that we are always striving to improve. Our team wishes you the best of luck in your next adventure, and we encourage you to send any further feedback to hr@fusionmedstaff.com.
