Pros
You get to work with beauty brands to make their packaging visions come to fruition. It is really cool to see what you have worked on the shelves at Sephora/Ulta. I’ve learned so much about the industry which is great. Direct management gives quick feedback and is available to help with issues. Direct managers really care and look out for us. It can be a little cliquey but everyone works hard to get the job done. The days go by fast because of all the work. And it is always challenging. Things are constantly changing which keeps things interesting. As an Account Manager you have to do a little of everything and cover for everyone, which gives you a lot more visibility in the company and experience - but this can be tiresome.
Cons
Work weeks are at a minimum 50hrs+ . They want the work done and sometimes there isn’t enough time in the day. We really care about our jobs and the projects we work on so we just stay to make it happen. The executive team is not aware of how much their employees are having to work. There are some people that are working late into the night, everyday. It is cliquey and there can be UNNECESSARY tension between departments. I think this is encouraged by executives but the more they are disconnected the better the teams get with working together.
