Pros
Employees - my team was absolutely phenomenal to work with (no longer there anymore because that's how horrible the culture and upper management are) and I honestly stayed because of them. You do meet some really honest, genuine people with good hearts there.
Cons
Congratulations! You were smart enough to check employee reviews about a company you may be selling your soul for. My advice to you is: Don’t waste your time reading the good reviews. Besides the fact that they are fake and probably written by the content team there who creates fake emails and writes reviews on behalf of “anonymous” employees. Filter and read 3 and below because why read the good when you really want to read the ugly. We always want to read the ugly anyways. So here is as much covered for you as a potential employee working for this piece of crap company. You will be Underpaid - They tend to move ppl from within so that they can give associates a nominal raise for roles that are worth more in the overall market. Not only will they expect you do your your normal responsibilities, but they expect you to do more. You have multiple people micromanaging you and asking you to take on more and more and more until you’re burnt out Karen Sutherlin is a Psycho - She absolutely needs to brought up here. She’s a horrible person to work with. She just creates more problems on top of already present problems. Straight up domino effect. Brett as well is horrible. Well, at least he isn’t annoying. I could describe his incompetencies, but he’s not impressive enough to even bother. It’s simple, do you want to work people who are hated by basically all employees in the company? If you think those reviewers really love these people as stated on these reviews, just ask about them in the interview. Here’s a question to ask in an interview: “What does the executive team look like?” “Do you interact with them on a daily basis?” Don’t be afraid to be detailed. It’s your life. You will get a fake, vague, and even a dumb answer. Honestly, The look on their faces will be a tell all. And trust me it ain’t pretty. Managers Have No Experience- They are inexperienced and have no idea how to manage their people. All of them were promoted from low level roles in less than a year of working there. As much as they mean well, they don't know what they're doing. No Growth - No one can train you because no one knows how to do anything. This is how you know you are working with a bunch of dumbies: If you make a mistake no one would even notice tbh. If you lie, no one would notice. And honestly, no one would even care. BUT if Karen finds out or notices, then she will bug you like an already madman taking steroids. Hostile Location - keep in mind this office is underground with zero windows and gray walls everywhere. There are cameras everywhere in the office. Krazy Karen had them installed. Talk about micromanagement at its finest. Also, everything in that area cost $10+ for lunch. All that adds up unless you want Subway. Disgusting Sanitation - The bathrooms are dirty. There were days when there was no soap in the girls restroom. Go pee in there if you don’t believe me while you wait. It smells in there EVERYDAY! Also there were weeks when there was no dishwasher soap in the kitchen, but they expected us to wash our own dishes. Executive team is so cheap they can’t even keep the kitchen stocked with cleaning supplies. Nominal Sick & Vacation Days - You are entitled to sick days and vacations but doesn’t mean Krazy Karen won’t complain about it and check your Facebook or Instagram to see what you’re doing. Yes, they check. Yes, they assume you to be their slaves and never take sick or vacation days. Boring Socials - cheapest socials you’ll ever attend. They expect all directors and managers to be there. They basically choose a cheap place for employees to have up to 3 drinks. No such thing as open bar from them cuz they too cheap for that. And they’re BORING! Everyone stands around to awkwardly talking to eachother drink and eat. OMG choose a place where people can actually do fun stuff. Prepare something fun to do. Mediocre Potluck - you’d think that the Brett and Karen would provide fairly decent food, but nope for potlucks they bring sandwiches from Costco EVERY SINGLE TIME without a doubt. Not even some croissant sandwiches, because they’re too cheap for that. Dirty Free Coffee - just straight up sucks. It’s a keurig that never gets a clean filter, so you’re basically drinking coffee mixed with 2 year old unfiltered water and very, very old coffee residue from literally 30-40 people using the keurig everyday. Coffee doesn’t mean lattes, cappuccinos and americanos, sorry. Not Impressive Pizza/Donut Days - When you start getting this every month you’ll get sick of it. Also, those are the cheapest foods you can feed your employees for free because they’re too cheap to provide anything better. They’d never bagels because bagels cost more. What a nice sugar spike and crash for those who actually care about their health from people who absolutely don’t care about you. This is and un-impressive efforts to increase employee morale. By stuffing you with cheap processed food high in sugar. The Not So Really Flex Work Hours - Flex hours are not flex when you have to come in by 9! Enough said. And you have to make up your hours during the week even if you’re on SALARY. Kids Are Everywhere- if you hate kids, this is not the place for you. There’s literally 3 schools surrounding the office and you will see and hear screaming kids everywhere. And they scream. Trust me. They do. What a nice way to wake up to on a Monday morning walking into work. Expensive Benefits - Be prepared to take a good chunk of money out of your own paycheck to pay for your benefits. It’s overall not great. No Job Security - Good luck trusting this place for anything involving that. Crappy benefits, basically only 4 holidays off, and coming into work everyday treated like crap does not help. Dress Code - Yes there’s a dress code...the fact that there is one is already says a lot about how you’re treated. Sorry you have to leave your open toed shoes, tank tops, and hoodies at home. Ever wonder why employees decide to not follow Ms. Karen’s dress code? Because we’re adults. Treat us like one with respect and we’ll treat the workplace like one, with respect. Screw calling it a confusionzone - it’s a straight up hell hole.
