Pros
Gallo is an ok place to start your career, especially for the valley. It’s one of the largest companies in the area. They have great benefits with allot of perks such as discounts on wine. If you do your time, make the right connections, and sacrifice some of personal life without complaints, you can move quickly within the company gaining exposure and experience. Pay is competitive for the area.*
Cons
Be wary of all these positive comments on Glassdoor. Gallo goes out of their way to ask for reviews from employees they think will give them a great review. This is because they have a difficult time retaining employees, so they're trying to attract new talent. They pay their employees well for the area, but that is for the valley*. Pay is about 20-30% higher in the bay area. They expect their employees to be in office with no WFH leniency, no excuses (kids, family, etc). Its highly competitive (they like this) and they expect you to sacrifice your free time to get work done even with heavy workloads. Employees are expected to deliver so they are treated as work horses, especially for those that do good work. Never expect to get anything above a 4% on a personal assessment which is high, the average is around 3%. Because the culture is so competitive it's going downhill. There are some great people but there are also ALLOT of bad seeds, especially in management. Management isn’t expected to do any grunt work even in times of need. They don’t know their employees jobs- this reflects poorly in your PA reviews, workload, etc. There’s ALLOT of politics involved with promotions. There's no little to no diversity in upper management.
