From the first week it was apparent that the Bullying culture had been in place for a long time, I like a challenge but my time ( nearly 5 Years) was at times unbearable. Head office is not supportive but more interested in protecting Employees that are in favour, which was obvious as more than what was inflicted on to me, others had left because of the terrible treatment they were exposed to. I was victimised, bullied and harrassed on a regular basis. Managers are basically just Puppets that are told what to do and dont have any Authority at all. I would strongly advise against working in Management for this Company.

Pros

Incentives are decent? The stores look presentable and nice. Regional manager, GM and CEO more down to earth than some SM.

Cons

Very competitive to the point where some managers will talk badly about other stores and about past employees. The store I was working at was very resistant to feedback in general and if you tried to raise anything with the SM she would let the casuals know (pinning you against the each other). Situations aren’t professionally handled. I was spoken to like I was the bottom of someone’s shoe gum by older casual who was with the business from numeral years and had no intention to work with a manager younger than her. Constantly accused of being “threatened” by this individual in front of regional manager and ignored by this individual on shifts. No one chose to do anything as this individual was good at sales, despite her constant passive-aggressive attitude towards me. I would say the company itself is not bad, however like the other reviews mention it is extremely sales focused. They (the SM) will reprimand you for helping customers who aren’t buying anything or purchasing from the sale rack stating that “there’s a difference between customer service and community service”.
