Pros

Really fun junior bankers, analysts and associates/VP's get on very well and do lots of fun things together. Compensation is better than many other banks as well. New HR leader is creating more initiatives for office socialization and really trying to increase perks.

Cons

MD's and junior bankers are on different floors for the most part which creates a noticeable barrier in terms of interaction. MD's have "favorite" analysts and associates which means that certain bankers get to work consistently with certain MD's who may be known to produce great deals or MD's who put a heavy workload on bankers for deals that never seem to close. This really affects bonuses if you never get to work with a successful MD. No 401k matching.

In the summer of 2016, GCA's SF office moved to a beautiful new space with amazing views of the bay. Our new location also means all our employees are located on one floor. We have historically paid top of the market on Analysts' bonuses. Bonuses are not based on which MDs individuals work with on deals. Instead, we have a consistent set of criteria which equate to being a successful Analyst. These criteria guide performance evaluations and bonuses: • Analytical Skills • Quality Work Product • Teamwork • Effective Communication • Engagement (contributes to firm culture and values)
