Competing credit unions and major banks pay significantly more for identical work. The “people helping people” branding does not reflect the internal reality or the policies employees must follow. Community events and parade appearances feel performative and do nothing to address the issues staff and members face. Branch leadership often behaves unprofessionally, with inconsistent expectations and dismissive communication, leaving little meaningful coaching or support. The attendance policy also allows managers to issue write-ups after only three call-out days within six months, even if one of those absences is just a partial day. This gives managers extensive discretion and creates a system that feels unnecessarily imbalanced. The overall culture, policies, and compensation create an environment where even employees who truly care struggle to succeed.
