Pros
Holidays are a positive, but realistically they’re needed just to recover from the workload.
Cons
There are some great people and supportive teams under curriculum leaders, but that’s about where the positives end. The leadership and culture seriously let the place down. There are ongoing concerns around bullying, inappropriate behaviour and how these issues are handled. During my time, I’ve experienced first-hand behaviour from management that was discriminatory and inappropriate, which was dismissed as “jokes”. It often feels like if your face fits, you’re protected if not, you’re not. Standards aren’t applied fairly, and there clearly appear to be different rules for senior leadership compared to everyone else. Decision-making lacks transparency. HR support is inconsistent and doesn’t always feel equipped to deal with more complex situations, leaving staff to figure things out on their own. On a basic level, the organisation struggles to get the fundamentals right, there are entire teams without proper staff rooms, not enough chairs for students, and specialist sessions running without suitable classrooms. It often feels disorganised and poorly managed. If I could I would give the place 0 stars.
