Easy when you're used to it - Computer Operator II General Dynamics Information Technology Employee Review

Pros

It gets repetitive enough to where things are easy to learn fairly quick. Most managers are great and they can be pretty flexible and understanding of things. Internal Mobility can offer a lot of potential as long as you meet the requirements for the job. They're not very flexible otherwise but is easy to move around if you meet the criteria. Also offer tuition reimbursement, paid certifications, as well as free certification trainings. I definitely recommend this position to get your foot in the door and use the free trainings as an opportunity to get yourself higher as quick as you can.

Cons

Shift bids every 6 months. Constantly offer VTO to generate higher queues. The only pay raise you will receive is when they do the yearly census basically on your city and determine if your city qualifies for a pay raise. THEN, the contracting officer has to approve the pay raise to be in effect for you city. All other cities have gotten raises 2-3 times already except El Paso still being the one city with no raise year after year despite cost of living going up.

Pros

If you actually put the work in, you are highly likely to get a raise above 2% every year.

Cons

Constantly shifting schedule. Downtime means you are sitting at your desk doing nothing or studying then doing nothing.
