Pros

Everyone has been a pleasure to work with. I've been blessed with a great team starting out with the initial projects. They all want you to succeed in what you do. Very interesting work done here in the San Jose site. No micromanaging, which promotes an autonomous work style. Starting pay is very competitive and work-life balance has been amazing. The San Jose office space is well-kept, and the windows showing the outside is pleasant to see so it's less claustrophobic.

Cons

There seems to be an imbalance of engineers based on their expertise; More software/electrical representation than mechanical. There is a lack of immediate, collaborative support as the team can get busy with their other tasks.

Pros

GD-MS seems to win *ALOT* of proposals and contracts. There is always the next big thing at GD-MS.

Cons

Contractors 411: Typically, contracts terminated with no notice. Today will be your last day. Please wrap up your work. It was a very low-rate contract too. Made alot of sacrifices to be on this program. Culture resembled a human wood-chipper ala FARGO. Many senior engineers leaving en-mass. I was asked to take over the role of the engineer who left just prior to my arrival. I called it: I will be next. Good experience once in your life to go thru the human wood-chipper. Toughens you up. However, GD-MS is a great example of how it is that legacy aerospace companies are dying rapidly and startups will be the future in aerospace.
