Pros
One of the best and largest shipyards in the US for Navy auxiliary ships and Jones Act vessels. People here are energetic and competitive. The company encourages ideas that can improve production processes, and many interesting ideas that cannot be seen in other US yards are implemented here. Great San Diego weather and good salary.
Cons
Training structure is not standardized, lots of freestyle, pretty much swim-or-sink. But this is common considering the nature of the job and the industry to drive costs down with whatever means possible.
