Pros
Was part of the first group of people to be onboarded fully remote during the pandemic and was able to learn how to do my job proficiently, despite never having been to headquarters in Montreal for training. It was a true testament to the Genetec culture of putting people first because I felt so comfortable asking for help from my team members. Also, Genetec was expanding during the pandemic, whereas other companies were thinking about their bottom dollar and cutting people. Never once was I threatened about loosing my job, or berated for mistakes, whereas another company I was made an example. Never truly felt safe at my previous company, and Genetec was the first company I truly felt safe. Starting vacation days was 15, also national US holidays. Can roll over 5 vacation days to the following year. The people that work for Genetec are really great coworkers, which is hard to say about for a lot of companies. Someone reading this may wonder why someone with a positive review of Genetec would leave, and my answer to that is I was truly excited, passionate and grateful for the opportunity, but something internally was pulling me into a different direction and I just had to follow where my curiosity and intuition was leading me.
Cons
No major cons I could put down during my time at Genetec.
