1. what they are pursuing is just efficiency not a balance between efficiency and quality.
2. most of them are pretending that they are expert in some part but if you look at it deeply then you can find that they can only talking not performing well.
3. they do not have any philosophy for design.
4. salary negotiation is in June and new salary starts in July. so someone hired there in between March and June, there will be no bonus and they have to wait for new increased salary until June next year.
5. when you have job offer from other firm, then do not mention it until you get bonus. they will not give you even that bonus is for what you performed last year if you mention it. Essentially, Gensler has ‘bonus day’ and party on Friday in June. i worked there more than 15month and left after bonus day but they did not give me bonus. so be careful when you leave G.
6. 90 days performance review. now they have a lot of projects so it will be ok but you should know they can fire within 90days easily.
7. be careful when you join G. what they are saying will be some hope, not exactly you will have. Particularly, when you are negotiating your salary then they will include everything in order to show bigger than real. also they provide paid overtime but it is not one and half times, insurance there quite expensive than other firm. that means that when you have salary negotiation, just look at base salary on paper they show.
