Pros

Working at GitKraken provides a tremendous amount of opportunities. The team is extremely welcoming to new employees. You get the best in hardware and technical tools to help deliver quality output. The culture is very inviting, and has a wonderful work-life balance. There are employees who have been here almost 10 years! That is unheard of in software. What I have noticed is that the work is stimulating, the balance is appropriate, and the team fosters a great, safe working environment. GitKraken has some very seasoned team members running the business. The heads of Marketing, Product, Engineering and Finance are excellent communicators, extremely professional, friendly and very well versed in their craft. They are all a pleasure to work with! The teams here are all really good at what they do and love helping each other become better each day. GitKraken recently hired a new CEO to help drive their product initiatives into market. I can say he is doing a superb job with the team. I love his drive, professionalism, and most importantly his positive influence on the teams throughout the business. I highly recommend working with this team if you are given the opportunity.

Cons

I would not call this a GitKrakn Con - more general working remote / office standard… If you are remote or in the office - Always remember your peers are just a DM away - share your work with everyone frequently, and don’t forget to take nice, long walks away form the monitors throughout the day to help your precious eyes and mind!

Pros

Lots of autonomy. Great people to work with. I've only been here a year, but we have teammates who have been here for a decade which I think is incredibly encouraging. Everybody's opinions and concerns are considered when it comes to planning and the direction of the products.

Cons

Very startup-like with occasionally shifting goals. I don't think it's a negative thing, but some could consider it as such.

Pros

Some talented and genuinely kind coworkers (though they don’t stay long) Occasional flexibility in schedule, depending on your manager.

Cons

Toxic environment: Longtime employees have mastered the art of blaming newcomers to avoid accountability. High turnover: Many senior and high-performing employees have left recently, a definite red flag. False sense of autonomy: Despite what you’ll read elsewhere, there’s very little independence. Expect strict micromanagement and constant monitoring of your online status. Remote work under pressure: The company is clearly moving away from remote-friendly policies, forcing remote workers into rigid Arizona-based schedules regardless of time zone. Low pay disguised as competitive: Compensation lags behind industry averages, but leadership insists otherwise. Unstable products: The core product is outdated, and newer initiatives feel half-baked. There’s a lot of “positive spin” from executives, but it doesn’t match reality. Lengthy hiring process: It looks thorough but should be viewed as an early sign of internal disorganization and micromanagement from the top down.
