Pros

Lovely offices and excellent facilities for staff

Cons

I was chased for months by the senior team to join the business. Eventually their charms worked and I left my well paid role with a major competitor and joined early 2020. Initial impressions were amazing - super offices and everyone seemed so welcoming... I was so excited to join. Amazingly I was dismissed c2months after joining, along with a number of other colleagues when the challenges of covid hit last year. The senior leadership were constantly reassuring everyone that the company was in a strong financial position to cope etc then out of the blue after only a couple of months I was apologised to and dismissed. Not one single area of concern with regards to how I was settling into my new role was passed on to me by my senior manager, just out of the blue called into a room and advised I had been dismissed due to cost cutting - and there was nothing I could do about it given it was still within my initial probation period. I appreciate that the pandemic has impacted the majority of business. However, they could and should have handled how they they treated the recently recruited staff far better with some honest communication before a decision was made. Do not trust what you are told my senior leadership! Although shocked at the time, I am now delighted they decided to act in such an underhand way - this pushed me to take on a fantastic opportunity with a truly great company.

Pros

Consultants and back office are the real stars of this business Recognisable brand

Cons

Poor and inconsistent line management, with limited accountability Concerns are not genuinely listened to unless they align with leadership’s narrative Big disconnect between stated values and day-to-day reality Progression and support often depend on who you report to rather than performance Feedback culture feels performative rather than constructive High stress environment with pressure outweighing support Issues are often deflected or minimised instead of properly addressed Internal politics can outweigh collaboration and transparency
