Pros
- It's easy to look good in a sea of incompetence - Brands have good heritage and could be good under different ownership - Nice office - The senior leadership team are not working hard and are not experienced leaders. This means that it is easy to silent quit providing you don't rock the boat as it gently sinks
Cons
- Product quality challenges e.g. recalls, oven doors falling off, noisy fans, scratched hobs, - customers are extremely frustrated and actively trying not to push the brands due to the service challenges - very poor consumer service - There is mountains of unsalable return stock hidden within the supply chain - Supply shortages, delayed launches and product issues mean it is impossible to hit sales targets - there is contempt for customers from several of the LT. - Lack of care for the employees, people are exited without due process with a 'ok take us to court then' attitude - the owners are very out of date in their thinking and are struggling with the speed of change in the world whilst day dreaming about what the world was like 30 years ago - no prospects of profit nor bonuses in foreseeable future - brands are underinvested - Led by a finance person who has only been to the UK office a couple of times, hasn't met customers, doesn't understand retail and isn't interested in learning - there is limited financial governance - sudden changes in direction are a monthly occurrence - this means strategies are not given the time to work
