Pros

The people you work with are awesome. Hands down, one of the primary reasons I'm still here. Competitive compensation is another reason, and the mutual respect I share with my supervisor is a third. I recently wrote a review on the benefits here, so I won't repeat myself - you can read the benefit reviews if you're interested. The company is constantly growing, changing, and trying new things (which can be both good and bad, depending on your perspective and how close you are to some of those changes). For someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, I love it here. Very rarely do I get bored, and whenever I do I am always able to find additional/new/interesting things to spend my time on (not that I get to ignore the other things I was doing before though). This role has repeatedly pushed me outside of my comfort zone, which has really helped me grow, develop my skills, and generally stay interested. Sure, being pushed out of your comfort zone is... well, uncomfortable. But, that's the whole point! That's how you grow and learn new things. Global Rescue can definitely be a challenging place to work - but that's what I want in a job. If you don't want a challenge, and just want a job where you can show up, clock in, and then clock out and go home, chances are this is not the place for you.

Cons

Some of the feedback is definitely spot on, but I think it's blown a bit out of proportion. I suspect the layoffs over the past winter are partly to blame for that, as a number of good people had to be let go, and that sucks. But, let's be honest, no one WANTED that to happen, including senior leadership; anyone who takes a moment to think it through will realize that no business owner WANTS to let people go, but sometimes they have to make hard choices. There are issues with communication between senior management and front-line employees, and SOME managers do hesitate to challenge senior leadership on things they might disagree with. Company leadership is incredibly cost-conscious, sometimes to the point of being "penny wise, pound foolish." I do feel that, at times, there needs to be more recognition of the fact that you need to spend a dollar today so you don't spend 100 dollars next month.
