Don't work here if you care about your personal time and sanity - Associate Global Strategy Group Employee Review

Pros

Good snacks in the office, everyone you work with will be very smart and interesting. Top-tier clients and meaningful work.

Cons

No proper training, have to learn on the fly with no room to mess up. You won't be learning new skills or have any professional growth fostered by management because no one has time. Expect to lean on your coworkers to train each other. If you are a minority, expect to be tokenized and not listened to about your insights. Senior leadership is predominantly white and it shows just in how they treat their POC workers (virtually never stay more than two years) and junior employees overall. NO work/life balance, don't count even count on eating meals. Expect to be up early in the AM to send emails and work well into the night and on-call every weekend, even while you are on "vacation." You'll be forced to take on new projects when you can't handle it and can't ask for help because everyone is drowning and if you say so, you'll get a meeting about taking a walk or a mental health seminar no one asked for.

Pros

Good benefits, lots of smart people, staff is nice, really interesting work and clients.

Cons

Lack of proper training and resources for associates and junior staff, despite high expectations. Managers can oversee your work/accounts, but do not meaningfully develop you. If your manager is busy—which everyone is—client work will be prioritized over you. There is little tolerance for the learning curve, and if you struggle within the first few months, you may be terminated for not being a “good fit.” Employees are expected to be available outside normal work hours, partly due to the culture and partly because of the nature of the industry. You will be working past 6pm most days.
